How accurate are Cincinnati's (OH) weather reports? (for people who live there please help)?

My family wants to go to Kings Island tomorrow and Wen. However Im pretty sure it is supposed to rain. Which might not be that bad, because if it rains for a while the park wont be so packed with people. So is it supposed to rain? And how accurate are they usually?

It may rain on one end of the park while the sun is shining on the other end. It may rain for fifteen minutes one hour, be perfectly fine for two hours and then rain again hard for an hour or so.

I was at the corner of Madison and Edwards a few years back and it was snowing. I turned right and went three blocks to Hyde Park Square where the sun was shining and the streets were dry. How can you predict something like that?

We are usually at the focus where two or three systems converge, the river pumps a lot of humidity into the air, the topography gives us micro-climates. That means it is very difficult to make an accurate forecast, even for one day.

I don't know where you live, or how you came to expect that weather can be predicted. Here a high school class followed all local TV weather forecasts in February a few years back and the most accurate team scored 35%. In my next incarnation I want to be a TV weatherman. You get to lie to people two-thirds of the time and get paid $100,000 a year. Now, they may have improved their percentage to an amazing 50% by now, but the best advice I can give you is to go ahead, take reasonable precautions, pack a couple of extra towels and have a good time. You have been wet before, you will be wet again.
