Does Taye make good drumsets?

I'm looking at buying a drumset for my brother and I to learn on. From what I've heard/read Taye makes pretty good drumsets. Obviously they're not the best but what I'm looking for is something that is in the medium quality range and under $1000. I don't need a nice expensive set because I don't even know how to play yet, but I own other instruments and I know anything too cheap is just gonna be crap.

I play electric kits so I don't know much about the brand you are looking into...

Just get a used kit from a local listing on the net or buy some new e-drums. You don't need a $1000 kit to learn on nor is it a good idea to go that way because you will never be able to sell the kit for the same price you got it at if you both decide to walk away from drumming after a while.

I've been drumming for 8 years now and hope you guys stick with it.
I've seen many people simply give up and get stuck with a high end kit...
