Sticks Drum
What different types of drum sticks are there and what are the different advantages and disadvantages?
How does the brand or what their made of and thickness and length, etc. affect sound and playing?
What you are really looking for in a premium stick is balance. Good sticks are matched so that the weight is as close to the same as possible. As far as the weight and length, that is just personal taste. I prefer 5B's and 747's myself but everyone is different. A fatter stick is going to give you a fatter sound but it will also be heavier and may slow your chops down a bit. I have tried many sticks and of course Pro Marks are great, but I think Vic Firth makes a little better stick.
