What marching snare sticks should i get and where?
Hello. I know im what sticks im going to get. Im getting Ralph Hardimon's and Tom Aungst snare sticks. But i am going into 7th grade but learned traditional grip in 6th grade. My percussion teacher has told me to get the snare sticks yet, but i know he wants me to get those sticks cuz every one on the snare line and stuff uses them. Idk. Should i go ahead and get them or wait till he tells me? Also would guitar center have those sticks?

Having said that, I must say that your question IS difficult to understand NOT only because of the spelling errors, but I believe there are some missing words. If you proofread, I think you will see that your question is a difficult one to figure out. I will try my best to answer what I THINK you are asking.
It seems that the question you are trying to ask is--you are just ending 6th grade and are, therefore, going into 7th grade next year. You are going to be playing the Snare Drum next year, and even though you have two brands of sticks you like to use, the band instructor (or drumline instructor) likes his drummers to use a certain brand. You want to know if you should go out and buy the brand that your drumming instructor wants you to buy right now, or wait until next year...or whenever he tells you to buy the brand he likes.
If you have a couple of brands you like to play with, by all means keep using them. However, if you would like to start practicing your new grip with the sticks the drumming instructors likes his snare drummers to use, find out if he DEMANDS that you use them, or if he SUGGESTS that you use them (you could ask someone who is a year ahead of you in school--someone who played snare this past year). Perhaps the teacher likes everyone to use the same sticks to keep to sound of the snares somewhat even, if you will (skinny jazz sticks will sound different than mondo techno VFX sticks, for example). If you find out that you MUST use the brand sticks he wants you to use, buy one pair and practice your new grip.
You don't need to worry about changing sticks just because you are switching grip style: you can use your favorite sticks for both grips interchangeably. By the way, are you aware that thicker drum sticks are actually easier to learn on than skinny sticks? I was shocked to find this out when I took jazz lessons 10 years ago!
As far as Guitar Center having the sticks you need, I would call around and do some price comparisons. Also, just so you know, Sam Ash delivers all over the country and they will beat any price out there. I highly recommend them and American Musical Supply for sticks and accessories.
