Multi Clamp
Question about my Pearl Drums set up....?
I have an old '80s Pearl Export kit with the traditional Pearl Tom Holders (The large pipes that go into the toms). I was wondering if instead of setting the tom holders inside the top of the bass drum, what if I used a multi clamp (Like the ones listed in the link below) to attach the tom holder to my cymbal stands, would it be strong enough to hold?

Btw, my toms are somewhat big and heavy. I don't remember the exact sizes, about 8x10 and 9x11 or something close to that.
You probably won't be able to position the toms the way you'd like with these clamps as they don't offer much flexibility. Your best bet is to save up for a Pearl rack system. That's what I use and it's the best money I've ever spent on drums.
