What is a good Drum Kit for a average drumer?
I have been drumming for about a year and am taking to it fairly well. My price range is a bit limited. I am willing to pay about $900-$1100. What is a good drum kit in my range. I want to stick to the well known brands such as pearl or yamaha.
I would recommend looking into Gretsch and DDrum. I own both brands, and both sounds great. They both have really well priced intermediate sets.
If you ever want to upgrade the sound of them, just get some better heads. The heads affect about 80% of the sound.
For cymbals, take a look at Sabian XS20's. Try them out at a music store. They're great for their price. Very affordable.
You can also look at PDP hardware. They're VERY affordable, and high quality.
