What is the difference between fusion and standard on a Drum Kit?
I'm a bit new to drumming. I've invested a little more than $600 into my kit which includes a bass, a snare, two mounted toms, a Floor Tom, a pair of hi-hats, a ride, and a crash.
At my last visit to Guitar Center, my mother (I'm only 16 so I live with her) asked what we can do to mute the sound. She doesn't mind the sound, but the mutes would allow me to play when others are here or after hours (her rule says I can play between 8AM and 9PM).
The guy at Guitar Center asked us if we had a fusion or a standard kit. I have no idea what that means. I would assume it has to do with the shells or the heads or something since the mutes were designed for it specifically.

Fusion sizes are usually 10", and 12" for the rack toms and 14" for the floor tom or suspended tom. The Snare Drum should be 14" for either set. The bass drum is usually 20", but the Tama Imperialstar is offering the New Fusion kit with a 22" bass drum.
The standard set sizes are usually 12, 13, and 16, with a 22" bass drum.
Measure the heads to see which size mutes you need.
