How do I pick the right size drumsticks?
So I've been playing for a while now and I've decided to get my own kit, and ergo, my own sticks; But how do I know which size is right for me? What wood? What tips? Argh!
I've read up on it and as I already knew, I have to take into account what style of playing, what kind of kit etc. but mainly how they feel in my hands. So really I'm just looking for for someone to point me in the right direction.
I will be playing on an electric kit. Mainly rock/hard rock, and my hands are average size (for a 15 year old anyway).
nobody can tell you what size to get.
you must go and find one that you feel comfortable with
and not too long and not too short
i prefer the sticks to be quite thin
then its easier to do tricks as well
and makes you look like a pro
even when you suck
