Drum Key
What should I use the drum dial or Evans torque key?
Because I have the drum dial and it is really complicated to use and i hear the torque key works ... so just give me some answers
Neither, they are both worthless gimmicks. Even if you have the most precision lug boxes on the most expensive kit made, the friction between the lug and lug box threads will render the torque readings useless. Even if that weren't the case, having all lugs at the same tension still doesn't mean your drum is in tune, just evenly out of tune. If you want your drums to sound great there is no shortcut, I cannot stress this enough. There are only two ways to have a great sounding kit, either take the time to properly learn how to tune drums (won't be simple or easy) or trigger. Unless you plan to do the latter you need to read this and experiment until you master it.
