Is it possible to make a Drum Cymbal out of alluminum?
I wanna make my own cymbal as a test to see like what it sounds like??? would it work? so I was gonna melt down some alluminu and shape it into a cymbal and of couse enforce it so it wont bend? is that a good idea?
possible, yes. but impossible by the means youre describing.
i support the idea, but you wont get anywhere with what you have. maybe try doing something with some old cymbals. i once took an old hit hat bottom, smashed it a bunch of times with a sledge hammer and got a sweet sounding crash! i have also drilled holes in a small crash and put nails through the holes so it makes a vibraty-ringy noise. i think youd have more luck doing something like that lol.
