what are some good starting cymbals for a drumkit?

I'm learning to play drums and I've been looking at cymbal packs. I'd like to get one w/ a hi-hat, crash and ride. I'm looking to spend 200-300 bucks and want to get a pack that sounds as good as possible for the price. Any suggestions?
