how to make a blues sounding Drum Set?

i have the rhythm travelers series from pearl. i wrote a little blues sounding song (i also play guitar and keys) and i was wondering how to make it sounding. should i get more cymbals (ride/crash/anything else) or something else like more toms? i've tried to write a drum part for my song but it never sounds right. please help me.
