What happens when you bruise an area repeatedly?

I play crash-cymbals for my schools Drumline, and we have to crash-choke, which means crashing the cymbals and jamming them into your arms to choke the sound. As a result, i have deep bruises on my arms after every practice, and we have practice so often that it doesnt heal. Is this like... bad?

i am not dead certain about this, but it seems to me that over time, it could weaken the blood vessels in that area. but i am not a pro.
