how do i know if a cymbal is a crash-Ride Cymbal?
Im going shopping for a new cymbal this weekend and im going to get a crash-ride cymbal so a cymbal which is a crash that can be played like a ride. is there any technical name for these and how will i be able to spot them?
There is one easy way to identify: they are called and labeled as "Crash Ride" that usually stamped on the cymbal and tagged when you shop on line.
While Crash Cymbals are usually in 15" to 19" sizes and crash rides are larger cymbals as ride cymbals. Crash rides are heavier than ride cymbals due to their profiles. Ride cymbals are thinner at their edges, crash rides have thicker edge profiles that makes them heavier. Crash rides are hybrid cymbals that are can be used both as crash and ride. They are louder than ride cymbals with a lot of sustain.
