Champagne Sparkle
What's a good wedding toast champagne or sparkling wine?
I'm looking for a good champagne or sparkling wine, but I don't know where to begin! I'm getting married in a week, and I still have not found one. I'm on a budget, and really don't want to spend a lot of money for the champagne. I was told that sparkling wine is a good alternative. Also, I want one that is sweet and not too dry ( I don't really like dry). Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!
First off I would like to say that sparkling wine is without a doubt my favorite alchoholic beverage.
You don't say what your budget is but you can buy both Schramsberg's Mirabelle and Mumm's Cuvee M for less than $20 a bottle. Korbel sells for less than $15 a bottle. You also might want to look for a demi-sec which is much sweeter than a brut. Also you might like an Asti Spumante which you can buy pretty cheap. Personally I don't like Asti but you're looking for sweet.
Also I see no reason to pour a sparkler for a toast. Most people don't like it and end up not drinking it. It's a total waste of money unless you're sure that people will drink it. Keep some bottles at the bar and let people order it if they want to actually drink it. There is no rule that says people have to toast with sparkling wine. Let people drink what they want for the toast. Good luck.
