Avedis Zildjian
How are the Zildjian Avedis cymbals?
I'm thinking of buying a pack of Zildjian Avedis cymbals. Comes with a set of hi-hats,a Thin Crash, a thin ride, and a free fast crash. I don't get to go to Guitar Center much since it's about 30 minutes from my home and my parents don't have time to take me often, so I can't try em' out there. I want to see if anyone owns any of the Avedis cymbals and can give me their opinion on them. Thanks!
First, I've rarely heard of the A series cymbals coming in a pack...make sure they're actually the A series instead of a ZBT or ZXT prepack or whatever.
The A series is pretty much Zildjian's most versatile line. Some of the cymbals have a pretty bright sound, others are on the darker side. The thin crashes sound really good--especially the 16 inch one, which is probably what comes in the pack. Probably one of the best crashes Zildjian makes. And I actually went to Guitar Center yesterday and played an A fast crash and I was pretty impressed with it.
I own an A 22" Medium Ride which is a great cymbal, and I've played on a lot of the other A cymbals in my time and I really think you can't go wrong with them.
You might want to check out Zildjian's website--I know they have a lot of sample sound clips from a lot of their more popular cymbals. You could go there and maybe listen to them before you buy! Hope this helps.
